Classes

At Blue Komet Taekwondo we offer two distinct curriculums; Traditional Taekwondo and Hapkido/Self Defense.

Traditional Taekwondo ▪ Students choosing to take Traditional Taekwondo will be taught, kicks, punches, poomsae (forms/taeguks), general hapkido and step sparring.

Hapkido/Self Defense ▪ Students opting to take the Hapkido/Self Defense curriculum will focus on Hapkido techniques and Tactical Hapkido with some kicks, blocks and punches taught as well. No forms are taught and only basic kicks are part of this curriculum. This type of curriculum fits well with older students or those students wanting to concentrate on self defense.

We have weekly classes two nights a week, Monday and Thursday evenings with test dates the last Saturday morning of each month. During the summer months we do NOT have the 5:30 class. The class times are:

Monday Evening

6:30 - 7:30pm:   Children TKD
 All Ranks

7:40 - 8:40pm:   Adults TKD/Hapikido
 All Ranks

Thursday Evening

6:30 - 7:30pm:   Children TKD
 All Ranks

7:40 - 8:40pm:   Adults TKD/Hapikido
 All Ranks

Children's class can be attended by children or parents and children. Adult classes are for ages 13 years and older. Due to the nature of the techniques taught, special permission must be obtained from the instructor for students under the age of 13 to attend adult classes. The tuesday evening Hapkido/Self Defense class focuses only on various forms of hapkido (Yeousohnkido, Tactical, Step Sparring). We offer this class for students who do not wish to take traditional taekwondo, opting to be belted in Yeousohnkido or Tactical Hapkido.
